Sovereign Accounts

"On the first day of the week each of you is to put aside and save whatever extra you earn, so that collections need not be taken when I come". (1 Cor 16:2).

Christian giving should be a planned, priority expenditure but that is easier said than done with so many demands on our money. Anyway, what does planned giving look like in a sophisticated financial world of Direct Debits, internet banking and credit cards?

Stewardship's Sovereign Account fits the bill. It is like having a special bank account to manage all your charitable giving with features to make giving easy, flexible and tax effective.

How does it work?
Regular or one-off payments can be made directly from your bank account into your Sovereign Account. Stewardship reclaims tax from HM Revenue and Customs on your behalf every month.
You ask Stewardship to make regular or one off donations to beneficiaries that you nominate. You can choose to send the reclaimed tax with the gift or leave it in your Sovereign Account. Stewardship retains a small amount from the tax reclaimed to cover administration costs.
You can make one off donations using a charity voucher (like a cheque) enabling you to respond quickly to special needs.
For peace of mind you receive regular statements and you can change your wishes or cancel your account at any time by writing to Stewardship.
Soon you will be able to operate your Sovereign Account online.

Last year over 21,000 Christians gave over £40 million pounds to Christian churches and all kinds of charities. There's more! Through Stewardship you are can make tax efficient gifts to full time Christian workers and full time students at recognised Bible colleges.

A Sovereign Account makes planned giving easy and establishes giving alongside all our serious regular financial commitments. A Sovereign account enables us to interact with our giving, making responses to situations from money set apart for this purpose.

Andrew's Story.....
"Giving this way is very simple because I pool all my giving into one place and then make my gifts from there. I prefer this to having lots of small gifts going from my bank account each month. "
